Some Points to keep Safe this Summer
1.PEDESTRIAN SAFETY FOR TEENAGER
Surprisingly, when it comes to walking safely, teenagers are now the most at-risk youth for pedestrian injuries. Mobile phones ,and other handheld gadgets are causing teenagers to be more easily distracted, which is leading to greater risk on the roads. Make sure you focus on the road with these tips.
Top Safety Tips
1. Pedestrians
If your need to use a mobile phone, make sure they stop walking ,and find a safe area to talk. When using headphones, teenagers should be sure to look up,and remove the headphones when crossing the street.
Cross streets using traffic signals ,and pedestrian crossings..
It’s always best to walk on footpaths. .If there is no footpath, walk:
on the right-hand side of the road, facing oncoming traffic
close to the side of the road
Always remember to look left, right and left again when crossing the street. Never run, or dart out into the street or cross between parked cars.
Always make eye contact with drivers before crossing in front of them, and watch out for cars that are turning, or backing up.
2.Bike Safety on the Road
To reduce the risks of injury, or accidents when cycling, make sure you:
wear a helmet that fits
wear reflective or high-visibility clothing
check that the bicycle's brakes, lights, reflectors, tyres and bell are working
check that the bicycle is the right size for you
do not wear clothes that might get caught in the wheels or chain
Don’t be a fool, Follow Safety Rules
Be Alert, Be Safe, Be Secure
