2nd Year CSPE Action Project

The class of 2.2, accompanied by their C.S.P.E. teacher Ms. O Donovan, enjoyed a great day on their visit to Clonakilty District Court on Tuesday last. Students witnessed many interesting cases and were lucky to have a questions and answers session with the judge once the morning session of the court concluded. A great experience in bringing their learning in the classroom to life!

Transition Year Maths Sand Circle Day 2017

Transition year students at Sacred Heart Secondary School recently undertook a module on sand circles as part of their maths course. As circles, constructions and geometry are key elements of the maths syllabus, this was innovative and fun way to explore maths in a real life context.

TY Students complete 87 KM leg of "Cycle against Suicide"

We arrived in Fermoy at 8 a.m. on Thursday the 4th of May to set off on our 87km cycle to Thurles.

The cycle started at approx. 11 a.m. There were loads of supporters out as we set off on our journey which helped immensely. The atmosphere throughout the day was unreal!

Sacred Heart Debating Team Capture All-Ireland Title

Sacred Heart Secondary School students won the All-Ireland Concern Debating competition in the Helix, DCU in Dublin yesterday evening. Team members, Laura Walsh, Maebh McCarthy, Natasha Sutton and Caoimhe Ní Sulleabháin defeated CBS Carlow in an eagerly fought contest.

Sacred Heart Students represent Ireland at European Youth Parliament

Recently Sacred Heart Students Grace Keane O’ Connor and Meabh Finnerty attended 3 days of the regional youth parliament. Both girls impressed so much that they were invited to the National Conference. Their performances impressed so much that the 2 Clonakilty girls qualified to represent Ireland at the International Youth Parliament in Georgia and the Czech Republic.
